Thomas "Tom" Charles Wheelock

Thomas C. Wheelock of Leroy, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at his home with family by his side, after a long battle with COPD. He was 62.

Tom was born on October 27, 1963, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His parents were Bernard and Jessie (DeVries) Wheelock. Tom graduated from Wyoming Park High School in Wyoming, Michigan. He entered into marriage with Dawn Fisher on September 18, 1992. He worked in several occupations, the last being in Tool and Die. He loved the outdoors, with fishing being his favorite pastime of all. No matter the time of year, when he was able to get out on the lake, he was happy and at peace. He also liked cars and watched drag racing and other car shows on TV after his health prevented him from being outdoors. Tom loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. 

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Wheelock; step-son, Matt Slater (Kristen Mangus), sister, Sally Freeman; nieces, Amanda (Cody) Schoonmaker, Cassandra (Travis) Lintern, Samantha (Brad) Hysell, Cheyanna (Colton) Carew, Raeanna (Dakota) Foupht, Amber (Matt) Fisher-Hollinshead; nephews, Branden (Jennifer) Wheelock, Ryan Fisher, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Jessie (DeVries) Wheelock, mother-in-law, Frances Langford, father-in-law, Thomas Fisher; brothers-in-law, Bill Freeman, and Tim Fisher.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Leroy, MI, on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Rose Lake Township Hall, 15953 16 Mile Rd, Leroy, MI 49655.
