We have lost a significant branch from our family tree.
Rose Marie Langhart, 91, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on May 30, 2024. A family service will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she will rest in Mount Lebanon Cemetery alongside her beloved husband.
Rose was born on November 19, 1932, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Mount Lebanon High School and went on to pursue further education at Bethany College. In 1953, Rose married the love of her life, Jerry Langhart, and raised their four children in Lansing, Michigan.
Throughout her service of 22 years, Rose exemplified excellence in her role within Michigan State University's Internal Medicine Department. The 'Rose Award' was established in her honor upon retirement to commemorate her remarkable dedication, ensuring that her legacy of excellence continues to thrive.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Rose exuded warmth, forming instant friendships with her genuine kindness. She passionately shared her love of Lake Charlevoix with all. The cherished Langhart tradition of making world-famous rock candy will continue in her memory.
Rose’s outpouring of love shows as our family tree continues to grow. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Debra (Jeffrey) Redman, Susan (Shawn) McCarthy, James (Connie) Langhart, Steven (Karen) Langhart, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her parents and husband.
