Patricia Temple Obituary

Patricia Audrey Temple, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at the age of 82, in Charlotte, Michigan. Born on February 18, 1943, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Patricia was the cherished daughter of George Boileau and Julia Magyar Boileau Tarjeft. Her early years were spent on a working farm, where she attended a true one-room schoolhouse in Walker, Michigan, a fact she took great pride in. She continued her education at Wyandotte schools for middle and high school, later attending Henry Ford Community College. She was married to her high school sweetheart Robert Malicki from 1961-1971.

Patricia enjoyed a career at McLouth Steel Corporation from 1965 to 1981, where she not only excelled professionally but also formed friendships through softball, skiing, bowling, and other various shenanigans. It was during this time that she met Don Temple, a connection that blossomed into a loving marriage. The friendships made at McLouth would still be there for her and Don 50+ years later.

In 1980, Patricia married her loving husband, Don Temple, in an intimate ceremony at Devil's Lake in Manitou Beach, Michigan, hosted in the living room of their friend Judge Cooney. Together, they built a life filled with joy and adventure, marked by a deep love for each other. Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don, and she is survived by her devoted daughter, Laura Stratton (Adam), her son, Jeremy Temple (Amanda), her brother, Tim Tarjeft, her sister, Lisa Neifert (Gary), and her treasured grandchildren: grandsons Alexander, Aidan, Asher, and Redding, and granddaughters Audrey and Abigail.

In the 1990s, she took on the role of Office Manager at Allen Park Presbyterian Church, where she worked until her retirement. This church became a cornerstone of her life, a community where she and Don were embraced by their church family. They participated in numerous activities, including Shipmates, Session, Trustees, Camp Wakanda, and Boy Scout Troop 1051, making countless memories along the way.

Pat possessed a vibrant spirit and a flair for creativity that was evident in everything she did. She had a passion for crafts and decor, ensuring that her home was beautifully adorned for every holiday and season. She loved to sew and her artistic talents were showcased in the handmade Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren, and her love for old houses and antiques led her to become a dedicated collector and preserver of cherished items. Her keen sense of style extended to her wardrobe, where she had an impressive collection of over 50 Christmas sweaters alone, alongside a multitude of color-coordinated clothing and accessories for every season. Patricia had a knack for finding joy in the little things, often pairing her outfits with silly earrings or headbands, much to Don's embarrassment, always aiming to bring a smile to the faces of those around her.

In her later years, Patricia faced the challenge of Alzheimer’s disease, which began to affect her in 2020. She spent her last five years living with her son Jeremy, his wife Amanda, and her grandson Redding in Marshall, Michigan. As her condition progressed, she required round-the-clock care and transitioned to Sensations Memory Care in Charlotte, Michigan, where she received loving attention from their staff and Advisacare Hospice of Lansing, ensuring her comfort in her final days.

Patricia’s life will be celebrated on February 15, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Allen Park Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army or Allen Park Presbyterian Church to honor Patricia's memory and her commitment to her church community.
