Patricia "Grampat, Grandma Pat" Booker (née Manderfield), aged 85, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, in Lake City, Michigan. Born in July of 1938, in Houghton, Michigan, she spent her formative years at Edsel Ford High School before embracing her life-long roles as a devoted farm wife and homemaker.
A woman of warmth and joy, Patricia was known for her love of the outdoors, often found swimming in Michigan's lakes, walking the beaches of Florida, or ice skating. Her leisure time often included playing cards—cribbage being her favorite—working on crossword puzzles, and indulging in a good book or the daily newspaper while enjoying a good pasty. Her contagious laugh and vibrant storytelling were central to the many precious moments shared with family and friends.
Patricia leaves behind a loving family including her children, Mark Bagley, Barbara Hensley, and Kathy Booker; her brothers, Rick and Peter Manderfield; and her cherished grandchildren, Blair Goodgame, Nathan, Aaron, and Rachel Hensley, Gabriel and Kurt Sheahen. She was also a proud great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren and an aunt to many nephews, greatgrand nephews, and nieces. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with endless pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tolly Booker; her father, Servie Manderfield; her mother, Merle Manderfield; step-son, Terry Booker; sister, Karen Amin; and brother-in-law, Sam Amin.
At this time, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Patricia's memory are encouraged to make charitable donations to Munson Cadillac Hospice, Keweenaw Natural Area, or the American Heart Association.
