Myrna Marie Wingate (Cramer) went peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father, surrounded by her loving family, on March 14, 2025. She was born in Owosso, Michigan, to Clay and Ruth (Ortwine) Cramer and attended Owosso High School.
In 1962, Myrna married Gary Kiger, and together they had three children: Tamera (Phil) Collier, Duane Kiger, and Scott (Stephanie) Kiger. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to four grandchildren: Nicholas (Megan) Kiger, Erica Kiger (JP Fowler), Katie Kiger, and Noah Kiger, who was the apple of her eye.
Myrna found her greatest joy in nature, especially in the woods surrounding her beloved home in Wellston, Michigan, and at her Grandpa’s cabin on Sand Lake near Tawas, Michigan. She was a talented seamstress and taught sewing for many years. She had a deep love for music, art, and crafts, and she collected books—many of which she lovingly gathered even if she never got around to reading them.
Holidays were special to Myrna, and she delighted in cooking for her family. She was a fierce and devoted caregiver, dedicating 60 years of her life to caring for her middle son, Duane. She cherished the nicknames “Crazy” and “Pete” and even had a custom license plate, “CzyGram,” proudly displaying her fun-loving spirit.
Myrna had a heart for serving others and spent many years as a caregiver for individuals with disabilities. She worked at Beverly Farm in Alton, Illinois, later serving as a para-professional at Wellston Elementary, and also worked at the Dublin Store for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law Rev. Jim Dycus, and her niece Dinah Dycus. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Dycus; her beloved companion, Bob Redman; her best friend of a lifetime, Gertie Smith; her children and grandchildren; and many dear friends.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Doug and Jana Walsh, and Mark and Kim Lester, for their friendship and caregiving to Myrna in her final days.
