Mark Allen VanAvery

Reed City, Michigan- Mark Allen VanAvery, of Reed City, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the Comfort Home in Reed City. He was 66.

Mark was born on August 11, 1958, son of  Betty (Hewitt) VanAvery, in Boyne City, Michigan. He spent his career owning and operating a mobile home repair business for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside whether it was going hunting or fishing. His solitude was tending to his hobby farm at his home, which brought him much joy. Mark entered into marriage with the former Kathy David. Mark loved putting a smile on everyone's face and surrounded himself with people he loved. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Kathy VanAvery of Reed City; son, Chris (Mary) Shirey of Hamilton; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Desoto of Traverse City, Diane (Tom) Munson of Boyne City, Janet (Rick) Knyze of Fremont, and Kim (Tom) McArthur of Nonokomis, FL; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by mother, Betty Lou VanAvery in 2001.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
