Son, Brother, Uncle passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026. He was 76.

Joseph Loved his candy and playing games on his tablet. He loved his time at King Nursing Home. Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of my uncle. He loved each and everyone of you. I'm glad that I had you as my favorite uncle. I will always be your candy dealer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margarete H. Jackson, John A. Markel Sr.; Brother, John A. Jr.; 2 sisters, Jeanie Redman, Susan (Vink) Heckroth; and his great nephew Michael J. Manns.

He is survived by his niece Sally (Steve) Irving; two nephews; great niece Mandy Jo (John) Gibson; three great nephews and two great-nieces.

The family is being served by the Cremation Services Only.
