Missaukee County - Gordon Gene Ripka passed away November 15th, 2022, peacefully in his sleep with family by his side. He was 78 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carla Raye Ripka; one son, Joseph William Ripka; half-sister, Rosalie Devries (Proctor); half-brother, Michael Ripka; his two adopted sons, Keven Michael Rider and Steven Wayne Rider; three grandchildren, Nicole Blair Ripka, Jacob Wade Ripka, and Alizabeth Marie Sherd; eight great-grandchildren, Shad Jeffrey Manciu, Allisyn Raye Lee Ripka, Julian Wade Ripka, Jackson Lyle Taylor, Jeremiah Wade Ripka, Lyla Misti Ripka, Noah Eagle Koscielecki, and Karlee Rein Koscielecki; many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Wade Ripka; his sister, Janet Lee Webber (Ripka); half-brother, Randy James Proctor; his mother, Ruth Proctor; and his step father, Albert James "Bud" Proctor.
Gordon worked for the Kent County Road Commission for 40 years, retiring in 2003 at the age of 58. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, western television, football, sudoku puzzles listening to Rush Limbaugh and spending time with his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
