Deborah Messer

Deborah Yvonne Messer, of Brutus passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital with her loving husband by her side. She was 66.

Deborah was born on October 15, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan to Lawrence and Arline (Charles) Greyzck. Deborah married the love of her life and best friend, John  Messer, on December 9, 1972. The two spent 48 wonderful years together.  
 
Debbie received her associates degree from North Central Michigan College and went on to be a legal secretary and assistant to Judge Barbara B Mackenzie in the Court of Appeals for over 20 years. She loved nature and enjoyed hiking. Debbie was also an accomplished environmentalist. She worked tirelessly to improve the environment and worked with the Tip of the Mitt Watershed council and many other nature organizations to help the cause. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and known to be a strong woman and hero to many. 

Deborah is survived by her loving husband, John Messer, sister, Faith Monahan, and brother, Terry Greyzck. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry and Arline Greyzck.
